FrontierVille’s characters require energy points to perform actions. This feature is similar to the one used in Treasure Island. Each action, including clearing obstacles from the land, harvesting or seeding and feeding the animals consumes an amount of energy. The bar with the energy points a character has is displayed on the top side of the interface and is colored in blue. In order to increase the amount of the energy the player has to be aware that:
1. Food is the main source of energy. Even if the character runs out of energy in FrontierVille, by hiring neighbors and ask them to harvest the plots or feed the animals, the food dropped after these actions is picked up by the player and it can be used to buy more meals.
2. Having more neighbors and friends in the game will successfully help the player to increase the amount of energy for a character since neighbors are able to send meals. These can be used to restore some of the energy points used previously by the character.
3. Each time a player levels up the energy is fully restored. Based on that it is highly inadvisable to consume a meal on the character or trade a collection, if only 5 points of experience or less, are required to reach a new level. Instead, the player should try to hire a friend or wait till he can level up without consuming meals or trading collection.
